Cranfield University career tool - using existing insights to create a user journey map and business case
The team at Cranfield University were keen to build up a picture of how a career finder tool might benefit staff, students, prospective students and employers. During an on-site workshop, we worked with them to ascertain the journeys their audiences generally take at present, and the opportunities for Cranfield if a career finder tool was developed.
Insights combined
Existing insights were provided by representatives across the teams at Cranfield, including the student support team. These were gathered, mapped to key stages of student’s career consideration at Cranfield, and used to inform journey maps.
Workshop teams
During the workshop, we split the client team into four smaller sub teams and worked with them to draw out potential journeys.
Ultimately, I brought together a detailed end-to-end journey map, showing where different audiences needed support from a career finder tool and where Cranfield University could benefit from implementing it.
Our client used the journey map as a key tool to engage the organisation in conversation and build a case for the career finder tool.
